Additional Information
For our international guests traveling from far, the easiest way to reach the wedding area is by train (if possible) or to fly into one of the following airports:
- Milano Malpensa (MXP)
- Milano Linate (LIN)
- Zurich Airport (ZRH)
On the wedding day, shuttles will depart from the organized hotels (see HOTELS section) and take you comfortably to the venue, so you can simply relax and enjoy the moment!
If you prefer to look for other accommodation, no problem. There are also a few Airbnbs around. ☺️
If you need any help with planning your journey, please don’t hesitate to reach out, we’re very happy to assist.
We love all the children in our lives dearly! However, due to the specific layout and logistical constraints of the house, we aren't able to provide the comfort necessary to host everyone’s little ones. For this reason, we have decided to keep our wedding an adults-only event. We hope this advance notice allows you to join us for a night of celebration, and we can’t wait to see you on the dance floor!
If there is no other way around or if you need help finding childcare recommendations in the area, please let us know and we'd be happy to help.
Discover the Mendrisiotto region
We are so happy you’ll be spending time in this beautiful corner of Ticino with us. Mendrisiotto is known for its Mediterranean vibe, vineyards, mountains, charming villages, and delicious food. If you arrive early or stay a bit longer, here are some wonderful ideas to enjoy the region.
Where to Eat
The area is full of traditional “grotti” (typical Ticino restaurants), cozy osterias, and scenic dining spots.
- Grotto Bundi — Authentic Ticinese cuisine in a charming vineyard setting
- Ristorante IN VIGNA — Beautiful terrace among the vines
- Osteria Lanterna — Cozy traditional dishes
- Ristorante Pizzeria Milano — Great for relaxed Italian classics
- Ristorante Buffet Bellavista — Stunning views on Monte Generoso
Tip: In Ticino, long lunches and aperitivo hours are a must — enjoy them slowly.
Nature, Walks & Hikes
If you love nature, you’re in the right place — lakes, valleys, waterfalls, and panoramic views are everywhere.
- Monte Generoso — Take the scenic train or hike for breathtaking views over Switzerland and Italy
- Parco delle Gole della Breggia — Beautiful canyon park with easy walking trails
- Valle di Muggio — One of Switzerland’s most picturesque valleys
- Cascata del Botto — A lovely waterfall walk
- Sentiero per la stazione Bellavista — Scenic trail toward Monte Generoso
Bring comfortable shoes — many paths are easy and suitable for a relaxed day outdoors.
Outdoor & Sightseeing
- Ride the panoramic cogwheel train up Monte Generoso
- Enjoy the lakeside atmosphere in Morcote, one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland
- Walk along the lake promenade in nearby Melide or Lugano
- Bike n' Wine and discover local vineyards and wine tastings with Borghovecchio
Fun & Indoor Activities
- FoxTown Factory Stores — Luxury outlet shopping (perfect if the weather is hot or rainy)
- Swissminiatur — See Switzerland’s landmarks in miniature (fun for all ages)
- Enjoy cafés and gelato in Mendrisio’s charming old town or Lugano
Our Personal Recommendation
The perfect day could look like this:
Morning hike or scenic train → long lunch at a grotto → afternoon gelato → sunset aperitivo by the lake.
If you need tips, reservations, or company for any activity, feel free to ask us — we want you to enjoy Ticino as much as we do! :)
Dress code
No strict dress code :) come elegant, festive and ready to celebrate.
Our wedding will take place outdoors in a garden, under the August sun and (hopefully) a beautiful summer evening sky. It will likely be warm during the day, but nights can get a little fresher, so bringing a light layer might not be a bad idea.
And one small tip for the shoe lovers: the dance floor might be grass… so choose your heels wisely hihi!
